Reality sets in....

Up until now I've been pretty lucky with the hostels I've stayed at. WakeUp! in Sydney was huge and had cheap food and great city walking tours, the surf camp was,well, a camp, and Byron Bay was really really nice. Brisbane, on the other hand, gave me a wake up call and reminded me that I'm backpacking, not staying in hotels. I'm staying at TinBilly Travellers, which had great reviews on the internet, but in reality, is not so great. The room I'm in is 1/3 the size of our 10 person room at WakeUp! and still has 10 people. There's an ensuite bathroom, which seemed nice at first, but is annoying if you need to go to the bathroom and someone is in there... which happens most of the time. The best part of the night was the 1am wakeup to people coming home from the bars and then getting 'friendly'.... awwwkkkkkkwaaardddd. Thankfully, I had my Ipod easily accessible... and they left this morning.....


I'm off to check out the city! Hope everyone's having a fabulous night at home and enjoying the warm weather- I'm jealous :)
